Bengal Adopts PM Modi’s Innovative Fuel Efficiency Measures: CM Adhikari

In a move to promote fuel conservation, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has instructed officials to reduce the number of vehicles in his official convoy. This decision aligns with a recent appeal from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which encouraged citizens to adopt austerity measures amidst rising global crude oil prices due to the West Asia conflict. Adhikari, after taking his oath at the state legislative assembly as the MLA from Kolkata’s Bhabanipur, emphasized the importance of setting an example by minimizing the convoy to only the necessary number of vehicles.

Adhikari expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Modi, stating, “The Prime Minister has always shown us the right path. It is not mandatory for all people to follow, but those who believe that it should be done will follow his example.” He conveyed this sentiment to the media, highlighting the influence of Modi’s leadership and the need for responsible action in response to the economic uncertainties faced by the nation.

In his recent address, Prime Minister Modi called upon citizens to contribute to alleviating economic challenges by adopting several cost-saving practices. These include carpooling, using public transportation, working from home, reducing the purchase of gold, and limiting foreign travel. These measures aim to mitigate the impact of the global hike in crude oil prices on India’s economy.

Following this directive, it was noted that all Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs and ministers in the state would also reduce the number of vehicles used in their official convoys. Adhikari’s own convoy, which typically comprises eight to ten vehicles, was reduced to five upon his arrival at the assembly, demonstrating his commitment to leading by example in this initiative.
