China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks on the Boundary Question, as announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun. During a routine press briefing held on Tuesday, Guo expressed that both nations are actively maintaining dialogue concerning border issues and are striving to implement the agreements achieved during their previous discussions.
In a related development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is currently in New Delhi to participate in the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. As part of his visit, Wang engaged in talks with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Monday, further emphasizing the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
Guo highlighted that the overall situation along the China-India border remains stable. He emphasized that the communication channels between the two countries are functioning effectively, allowing for continued dialogue and cooperation. According to Guo, both sides are actively working to implement the consensus reached during the 24th round of boundary talks, underscoring their commitment to peaceful engagement.
