India and the United Arab Emirates are working to deepen their economic and strategic ties, as highlighted during the recent visit of Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to the UAE on November 1–2. The visit aimed to bolster economic engagement and expand strategic cooperation between the two nations, which already share a comprehensive strategic partnership.

In Abu Dhabi, Misri met with UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy to discuss enhancing collaboration across various sectors. They explored new opportunities for partnership and exchanged views on regional and global developments, signifying a mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The cultural dimension of the partnership was also a focus during Misri’s meeting with Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism. They discussed potential cultural exchanges and closer institutional cooperation, particularly through the proposed House of India museum. This initiative aims to showcase Indian art, history, and heritage, while also promoting tourism.

Economic engagement was another critical aspect of the visit. Misri held talks with Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Finance and group CEO of L’Imad Holding Company. Their discussions centered on increasing investment flows and developing long-term commercial partnerships, reflecting a shared ambition to boost economic ties.

The visit underscored the strong and growing relationship between India and the UAE, with both countries committed to exploring new areas for collaboration in trade, investment, culture, and strategic affairs. This engagement not only highlights the robust ties between the two nations but also their shared vision for future cooperation.
